We have just ended our first year of retirement. Officially on November 1^st. Our original plan was to fly out to Thailand on November 7^th ,2023. We accomplished that. Then for the next five months we took 30 flights and visited Cambodia, Vietnam, Indonesia, Singapore, Malaysia and the cities they offered. We based ourselves out of Chiang Mai, Thailand to accomplish this. Now it was time to move on to Europe (Portugal and Italy). This is where could compare and contrast then decide on a more permanent location for retirement. We never made it. Thailand just wouldn’t let go. We ended up getting a retirement visa and a one-year lease on a condo in Chiang Mai.
